Lots of new stuff to read on the Patreon! 😄

February 25, 2024 by Edie Skye Leave a Comment

Hey, y’all! If you like to read novels before their official release, then it’s a crazy-good time to be on the Apprentice Mage+ tiers of my Patreon.😄

Long story short, while I was drafting my latest, Monster Girl Tamer #1, my husband Jacob had a little break in his writing schedule and decided to fill it with … more writing. Which resulted in us collaborating on Blood Knight #1: Vampire Slayer.

And since a recent surgery* put me a little behind on posting Monster Girl Tamer, I opted to fill those days with the rejected draft of my next Titan Mage novel, Titan Mage Defender (along with commentary on why I rejected it 😮).

*No worries! It was a planned hysterectomy, and I’m well on my way to recovering.

All this to say, there’s now A TON of new stuff to be read over on the Patreon:

And don’t forget, everyone who signs up on the Arcane Index Mage Recruit+ tiers gets a Titan Mage sticker pack! 😃

If any of this makes you go HECK YEAH, just hop on over to my Patreon. 😊 We have a ton of fun over there!

Blood Knight: Vampire Slayer is up for Pre-Order!

February 14, 2024 by Edie Skye Leave a Comment

Coming March 14th, 2024!

PRE-ORDER BLOOD KNIGHT: VAMPIRE SLAYER HERE

***

First in a New 5-Book Series

An insatiable succubus? A shy werewolf? A scatterbrained angel? This team needs a leader!

J.B. Clarke enrolled in college to earn his degree and find a steady job. What he got instead was an adventure in a secret underworld where vampires rule over all. Emma Rose, a friendly gamer who turns out to be a succubus, recruits him into Broken Fang, an overly ambitious team of monster girls. These lovely ladies know they’ll need help if they’re to stand a chance against the vampires, and they’re looking for a few good men.

Well, one man, actually. And that’s him.

Clarke is soon thrust into a hidden world full of magic, mystery, and mythical creatures. He’s in way over his head because Broken Fang is a dysfunctional mess, and his calculus professor is a sadistic vampire who snacks on pet animals. He’ll need more than his (considerable) experience with fantasy games to solve this problem!

Fortunately, he’s far from helpless. He’s a blood knight, descended from an ancient and powerful line of vampire hunters, and his magical abilities have finally begun to awaken. But will they be enough? Can he master his powers in time to face the coming storm? Can he grow into the leader Broken Fang so desperately needs?

Or will he end up as just one more meal for the vampires?

WARNING: Blood Knight: Vampire Slayer is a fun urban fantasy adventure with a healthy side of heat: voluptuous succubi, energetic werewolves, incorrigible slime girls, nubile witches, and saucy language to match. (So don’t read it and then complain about the spice. Y’all know exactly what you’re getting into.)

Mornin’, everyone, and Happy New Year!

I hope today finds you with the same number of fingers you had last year, and in general good spirits. 😄 Husband and I had a fun evening, which is to say he went to bed at 10pm, and I stayed up through the wee hours making a book cover for our next release. 😆

What’s that? But Monster Girl Tamer isn’t done, you say!

The short version of this story is that husband had some free time before his next traditional book contract is set to land, and he is A Chronic Author, which means he used the time to write a whole dang book. (And is currently halfway through the second dang book, cause why not. 😆)

It’s a collaborative piece, so my current project is going through and doing my part – editing, and generally pouring my sass all over it – but the first chapters will be coming to the Patreon starting THIS SATURDAY! 😄

That said, if you’re a fan of hot urban fantasy with monster girls and kick-ass vampire hunting action, look forward to Blood Knight: Vampire Slayer!

What’s Edie Reading? – Magic Steampunk Pirate Booty #1 by Grady Sparks

December 25, 2023 by Edie Skye Leave a Comment

Hey, y’all!

One of my goals this year is to start sharing more books that I’m reading so this blog isn’t just me-me-me all the time. To that end, here’s the first in my newest feature, “What’s Edie Reading?” 😄

I knew I was going to enjoy Magic Steampunk Pirate Booty from the title alone, and its raucous blend of humor and adventure does not disappoint.

I’ve seen it receive lots of praise similar to that given to Titan Mage, and it’s definitely earned: The ladies are distinct and inseparable from the plot, the action is energetic (sometimes bonkers), and the sexy banter between the characters is top-notch. (Also, the spicy scenes are hot, and fans of Bexley will find another waifu to love in Bree.)

Also, in a genre where the writing is sometimes conspicuously rushed for a quick release schedule, this one takes the time to have some genuinely hilarious turns of phrase that had me pausing to read them aloud to my husband.

All in all, a super fun read (and it’s associated short story, “Idol Pleasures,” is worth checking out, too)!

What’s Edie up to these days?

December 10, 2023 by Edie Skye Leave a Comment

It’s been some MONTHS, y’all. 😫

After releasing Titan Mage Apocalypse this past June, I took some time off to recharge my creative brain.

I’d intended to start writing again in late July, but then my grandma was hospitalized, my dad had surgery, I got sick, my cat got sick, my cat died, we got a new kitten who is chaos incarnate, and then we went to Disney World.

Somewhere in there I managed to write three chapters of the next Titan Mage series—but with all that madness affecting my writing, they ended up being pretty crap chapters, so I junked them.

All this to say, my life has finally sorta calmed down, and now I’m Officially Back to Writing! 😃

In the past month, I’ve finished two Titan Mage short stories for anthologies that are coming out early next year. (More on that when preorder links are up.)

The husband and I have also re-outlined the mess that was the next Titan Mage book—and completely outlined a brand-new monster girl trilogy in a new universe!

Well, new-ish. On my non-spicy H.P. Holo penname, I wrote Monster Punk Horizon, a GameLit series inspired by all things Monster Hunter, Pokemon, Digimon, and generally monster hunting/collecting/befriending.

I’ve had a lot of requests for a monster girl series, and it occurred to me that the world of that setting would be perfect for one.

Thus, I’d like to introduce you to Monster Girl Tamer! 😄

It’s already being posted on the Apprentice Mage+ tiers of my Patreon, with two new chapters coming each week!

When will it release on Amazon? I’m aiming for March or June of next year, but an official pre-order link won’t be posted until the novel is finished on Patreon.

This will be my publication process going forward, for two reasons:

1) The Titan Mage publication schedule was so demanding that, after writing five books nonstop for a year, I was nearly burned out by the end of the series. It also left next to no room for life stuff, con appearances, and the like, so while it was an immensely fun project, I was also immensely ded by the end of it. 💀

2) Readers have been asking for longer books, which naturally take longer to write than my previous schedule allowed (at least, if I’m to write similar quality). Posting to Patreon until the novel’s done thus allows me to write without burning myself out, and allows readers who really want to read early the ability to do so.

What about Titan Mage, then? Don’t worry! 😄 Subsequent series are still happening, one a companion series that follows the crew of the Indigo Gryphon, one a series that continues Locke’s story – but more on those when they’re closer to release.

All that said, between Monster Girl Tamer, Titan Mage, and more to be announced😉, 2024’s shaping up to be an exciting year.

Titan Mage Apocalypse is up for a Dragon Award! 😮

August 8, 2023 by Edie Skye Leave a Comment

I would have posted this last night when it was announced, but Jacob was harassing me to get on the couch so we could watch Resident Evil: Death Island which, of course, is Very Important Priority Cinema.

But now that the zombies are out of the way:

Last night, out of the blue, one of my author friends messaged me to say “Congratulations to Jackson Tjota!”

Given the time of year, I figured this would be an indication that I should look for the Dragon Award nominees list, and surely enough …

Jackson’s work for Titan Mage Apocalypse is up for a Dragon Award in Best Illustrative Cover! 😮

That said, a huge, enormous, Titan Chimera Godbuster-sized thanks to everyone who nominated Jackson for this award. I honestly didn’t expect my little awards push to go anywhere, but the fact that so many readers and fellow authors joined in and thought it worth the nomination is incredibly flattering.

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, a huge, enormous, Titan Chimera Godbuster-sized congratsgoes to Jackson for his nomination. The Titan Mage series was my first runaway hit, and I owe no small part of its success to his evocative covers. Moreover, he’s been a great artist to work with, and has a talent for capturing the spirit of my novels and characters in visual form.

All this to say, he absolutely deserves this nomination – and every vote you can send his way.

You can view the other nominees and register to vote here.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Dragon Awards, they’re a set of sci-fi/fantasy/geek awards bestowed by Dragon Con, which is one of the largest conventions on the US East Coast. (Seriously, on Dragon Con weekend, 65,000+ nerds all pack into one 5-hotel area of Atlanta, GA for 5 days of sheer insane geekery. It’s one of the most delightful spectacles a geek can experience.)

The Dragon Awards themselves are significant among sci-fi/fantasy awards, though, because unlike others of similar scale, they’re entirely fan-chosen, and anyone can vote. (Which makes the nomination that much more flattering. 😊)

If you’d like to vote, all you need to do is sign up here and then watch your inbox for the relevant emails.

But regardless of who you end up voting for, thanks so much for nominating Titan Mage Apocalypse.

I continually find myself surprised and delighted by the number of people who have enjoyed the Titan Mage series, and to have a piece of it nominated for a fan-chosen award is an enormous honor. 😊

What’s Next for Titan Mage? (Version 2.0)

June 15, 2023 by Edie Skye 2 Comments

Now that Titan Mage Apocalypse is out, I know y’all are saying “SURELY THIS CAN’T BE THE END OF TITAN MAGE!”

Don’t worry; it’s 100% not over. My husband and I structured the Titan Mage universe so that it could be explored infinitely if the first series took off – which, thanks to you awesome readers, it absolutely did. Which means you’ll be getting Titan Mage as long as people are still reading it.

When, you ask?

Well, that is an interesting question. See, my initial plan was to write Titan Mage Series 2 and release it starting in December. As mentioned in my previous What’s Next for Titan Mage? post, it will follow the crew of the Indigo Gryphon, elaborating on the adventures that are hinted at over the course of Titan Mage Series 1; once completed, it would then lead into Series 3, which would combine both casts and cover a new threat to Haven that’s hinted at in Titan Mage Apocalypse.

However, a complication has come up in the form of “A TRADITIONAL PUBLISHER IS INTERESTED IN TITAN MAGE SERIES 2!” 😲

It’s not a done deal yet; I have to submit my book proposal (which is mostly done) and the first few chapters (which I’m going to write now that Apocalypse is finished), and then there will be some back and forth between me and the publisher about changes they’ll want before they formally decide whether to pick it up or not.

If they don’t pick it up, no prob, I’ll just self-publish like I did with Series 1.

If they do pick it up, though, the publishing schedule gets slightly complicated. Traditional publishing moves at a much slower pace than indie publishing, which means you’ll be getting one Series 2 book a year (provided that it sells well enough to continue). And given that I’d planned for the Indigo Gryphon’s story to overlap Locke’s and lead into Series 3 … you can see how that affects the timeline.

However, I do have plans!

While the publisher will get right of first refusal for my future novels, I know there are some story types that are unviable for trad publishing but thrive in indie, and there are a number of things I can do with this. I’ve been tossing around concepts for several other series set in the Titan Mage universe: a harem slice-of-life series that follows Locke and the Blue Heron ladies right after [a spoiler], an action-adventure series about Lola and her Indexers, a more traditional romance series that tells spicy love stories from all over Haven, a sword-and-sorcery style series set soon after the fall of the Precursors, the list goes on! I’ve also tossed around the idea of writing a monster girl harem series set inside the Monster Punk Horizon world from my H.P. Holo pen name.

Long story short, you’ll still be getting new stuff from me in addition to the trad published novels, should Series 2 be picked up, albeit at the slower pace of 2-3 novels a year rather than 4.

But I won’t really know what my release schedule looks like until the proposal process is done, and trad publishing moves at its own pace.

So what am I going to do in the meantime?

Welp, first I’m going to take a dang nap. 😂 I’ve been writing nonstop (in addition to dealing with some family medical stuff) since the release of Titan Mage Ruin and I am ded. A well-earned vacation is in order, and I plan on spending some time chilling out, catching up on my reading, video games, and Gunpla, and generally recharging so I can jump into my next project at full capacity.

Because I am bad at vacations, I’ll very likely spend that time doodling on a Titan Mage novella to follow The Hot Springs Episode (since Sloan and Peth didn’t appear in that one). Once I get back to work, the same aforementioned publisher has also asked me to contribute a Titan Mage short story to an upcoming anthology, so that’s my next priority. After that, my H.P. Holo readers have been clamoring for the next book in the Monster Punk Horizon series, so MPH #4 will be my next official project. Hopefully, by the time that novel is done, the book proposal process will be finished and I’ll have a better idea of what the rest of my production schedule will look like.

Until then, the best ways to stay updated on what I’m up to are 1) my Patreon, 2) my newsletter, 3) my Twitter, and 4) my Facebook Page!

Titan Mage Apocalypse (#5) is out!

June 15, 2023 by Edie Skye Leave a Comment

Whew, it’s been a ride, y’all! 😄 But now, finally, comes the epic conclusion of (the first arc of*) the Titan Mage series.

*Of course there’s more to come! I love writing these characters far too much to give it up. 😁 More on that in an upcoming post.

Titan Mage is primarily a series about hot people doing cool things, but it’s just as much a love letter to all things mecha, and I think mecha fans in particular are going to get a huge kick out of this conclusion. At the very least, I had an enormous amount of fun writing it, and trying to homage all the bonkers things I love about mecha anime.

Here’s hoping you enjoy it just as much! ☺️

A world-ending deity? An ancient superweapon? A fight for the future of Haven? Only Harper’s Harriers can save the day!

When Locke came to the world of Haven, he didn’t know he’d be called upon to save it one day—but with his god-tier magic, his giant mech called a Titan, and his crew of hot, capable women, he’s the best man for the job.

Especially now that his crew includes the Precursor space witch Peth, whose memories of what destroyed her civilization a thousand years ago have come rushing back. Now that same destroyer is about to break free from its prison within the Crystal Moon. To defeat it, they’ll have to find and activate an ancient Precursor superweapon.

But reaching the superweapon won’t be easy, for Locke must now lead the Harper’s Harriers to the one place no one from Haven has gone in over a thousand years:

Outer space.

Has Locke mastered his Titan enough to face his greatest challenge yet? Will his crew, their Titans, and all their epic upgrades be enough to save the world?

He may not know how his story on Haven will end, but between his harem of badass women and the coming battle with a destroyer god, one thing’s for sure:

Whatever comes next, he’s going to go out with a bang.

WARNING: Titan Mage Apocalypse is a fun fantasy adventure containing steam both punk and smutty: captivating airship captains, alluring engineers, provocative mech pilots, titillating catgirls, and sensual space witches. (So don’t read it and then complain about the spice. Y’all know exactly what you’re getting into.)
